To Pack in Your Hospital Bag

This is a list of items that are helpful to have in your hospital bag:

FOR MOM:
robe
slippers
travel size toiletries-shampoo/conditioner, soap,
toiletries, cosmetics, deodorant, lotion, toothbrush,
Sanitary pads
Kleenex
Q-tips
Hair Dryer
Curling Iron
Small Mirror
Hair Brush
Hair clips
hair care products

camera, batteries and extra memory card
planner (for phone numbers of friends & family)
blank paper and pen (to start journal)
cell phone and charger (husband can take outside to talk)
Phone List
Cell phone (can only be used in lobby)
Calling Card (for your long distance calls)
outfit to leave hospital in
outfit for 2nd day if you feel up to it.
2 bras (nursing) or just bring a tank top with a shelf bra. Then you can buy bras later when your milk comes in.

FOR BABY:
baby clothes: going home outfit (tshirt, receiveing
blanket, outer blanket, outfit, cap)
Outfit for pictures
Extra blanket (for dog to smell)
carseat (be sure you know how to loosen & tighten the straps)

FOR LABOR:
Unscented lotion or powder for massage

breathe right strips
socks
massage tools
rice sock or heating pad

pencil and paper
picture to use as focal point to focus on during labor
music portable stereo and tapes/ CDs (battery operated)
Relaxation CD’s
labor review sheets from classes
time passers (magazines, a book, cards, baby book?)

camera and film (CHECK BATTERIES)

one pillow from home with colored pillowcases (I highly recommend!)

DAD:
Sleeping Bag & Mat (if chair bed isn’t comfortable for him)
