Picture of my Life

Yesterday was a crazy day for me. NJ (my son) has his third cold in six weeks. Sigh... He has been much more independent since he's been walking. But when he is sick, I have to break out the carriers in order to get through my day to day tasks. By the end of the day I felt like I'd go crazy if another human wanted to touch me (too much human contact with a clingy sick boy). I had snot on my shoulders and graham cracker slime on my sleeve. When dh came home, I told him I needed to get out.

Off to Starbucks with a novel (A Million Little Pieces - reading for my bookgroup) in hand. I sat down with my Mocha Decaf and began to decompress (as my dh calls it). About 10 min. into my drink and book I hear a sound that makes me jump. A toddler squeal. I was surprised to see a little girl not more than 2 years old running around Starbucks at 9:30 at night. Is it just me, or does anyone else think that 9:30pm is a little late for a toddler to be up? Anyway, so much for decompressing.

When I got home I took a look at the mail and discovered a small square box. I had no idea what was inside. I am definitely guilty of purchasing something online and then forgetting about it 3 hours later. I opened it up and found the little playmobil sling wearing mama I had ordered a few days earlier. I laughed, because she actually looks a little bit like me (if she got a haircut and had blue eyes). The baby looked nothing like NJ (too much hair and dark).

I took her upstairs and put her on my computer. My sister called from the west coast and I talked to her briefly. She said she wanted me to send her a pic of the Playmobil figure. So, I quick snapped a picture and emailed it to her. After I sent it I looked at the picture again and realized that I had captured a picture that described my day to day existence!
